Equinox Fitness X

Background: Equinox is the premier fitness clubs in the US with over 50 locations. Equinox flagship club that was constructed in the heart of Century City CA attached to the renowned Century Hyatt hotel. AV Planners was asked to design and install a Audio Visual system that would be both functional and aesthetically pleasing.

Challenge: This club was a new design and build. AV Planners was there from the very beginning working with several different trades during the process. The Club is a two story structure with over 70,000 SQ feet. The other challenge was the short time frame of 3 months. AV Planners designed a system for both the fitness club and the spa and all common areas including the out door retreat area adjacent to the SPA.

Solution:
Main Fitness Room:
Displays- 12 42" Plasma screens mounted from the ceiling. Locker Rooms- 50" Plasma Screen built to specification for cabinetry.
Audio- utilizing the DMX system which allows the club to have 5 different zones with custom sound for each zone.
Drop Speakers with omnio direction for sound that will cover the entire area fitness area.
Spinning Class, Group Fitness Room and Yoga Studio- Audio Visual Rack that the trainers can change the sources and volume easily while conducting a class.
Common Area, Locker Rooms, and Treatment Rooms- 65 JBL ceiling speakers utilizing the DMX five zone system.

MGM, Constellation Place

Background: The MGM building is a high profile building located in Century City CA. The building has over one thousand tenants that pass through the lobby area daily. When Constellation Place, the building management company asked AV Planners to come up with a digital signage solution that was cutting edge and needed to be able to with stand high levels of usage per day. AV Planners decided to utilize X20 media solution software.

Challenge: Lobby displays can be a challenging environment for any media technology. The system has to be reliable and easy to make quick changes for multiple users.

Solution: The X20 Media Player provided a robust player solution for the challenging environment. And X20 Remote Transfer system was just the ticket for a flexible, yet sophisticated content management system to meet the buildings scheduling demands.

Kitchen Academy

Background: Kitchen Academy is a professional culinary school with a state of the are facility located in the heart of Hollywood California.

Challenge: To create a environment in which the Audio Visual is located within the confides of each kitchen. The Audio Visual System had to be deigned to withstand harsh environment of a working kitchen. The system was designed to be easy to used for both the instructors and the students.

Solution: Each work station has a 27" LCD screen so that the students can remain in their stations while the instructors demonstrates how to prepare each dish. At each Instructors station a video camera is mounted overhead . The instructor can also list the recipes on the screen while the students follow along.

* Displays - 2 Plasma Screens for each station consisting of 16 total.

* Video Camera - 6 Video Camera were mounted above the instructors stations allowing the students to watch the instructors techniques. The system also was connected to the instructors computers for recipes and instruction.

Squire, Sanders & Dempsey L.L.P

Background: Squire, Sanders & Dempsey is a law firm with offices worldwide. The Downtown office of Squire and Sanders is a prestigious office with high profile clients. Squire Sander's downtown office has pieces of art from around the world. The interior was designed in particular to complement their art work from the early Ming dynasty.

Challenge: Squire Sanders wanted to have an Audio Visual system that didn't distract from their interior design. AV Planners designed a system to keep the technology well hidden yet functional and easy to manage.

Solution: Two Conference Rooms One Polycom Video Conference System- Audio System- Eight Shure low profile microphones. AMX control System- Allowing for control of both systems which includes control of the video conference system. Display Systems-Two LCD Mounted LCD Projector- Both projectors had to be hidden, Two 50" Plasma Screen and Two Da-lite electric screens. http://www.ssd.com/
